what's difference between polyperson and polyorigin theory
of polymorphism?
Polyorigin theory put forward by Huxley and others.
it says that entire colony is a representation of a single
medusoid organism and all forms of colony are the organs of
same organism.it results by the individual division of the
various parts of medusa like tentacles, manubrium.
Poly person theory put forward by leukart and others
believe that a polymorphic individual is a colonial form in
which diversified organisms are grouped together to perform
different functions. the colony consists of either polyp or
medusa but the primitive zooid of the colony was of polyp
type.
