g(x) = x-1/x

g(-1/2)=(-1/2)-(1/(-1/2))

=-1/2-(2/-1)

=-1/2+2/1

=-1+4/2

=3/2

g(-1/2)= -1/2 - 1/(-1/2)= -1/2 -1 x 2/-1= -1/2 -2/-1
