at the end of telophase of mitosis there would be haploid number of chromosome resulting in 6 chromosome of fruitfly on each cell.

As mitosis is not a reduction cell division as meiosis the chromosomal number is always constant from one generation to other generation. while in meiosis the chromosomal number will be halfed during the meiosis 1 and meiosis 2 will be same as mitosis producing 4 daughter cell. so in mitosis diploid nature persists(12 chromosomes) but in meiosis cell becomes haploid (6 chromosomes) so that it becomes 12 chromosomes when it fuses with corresponding sperm of ovum such that genetic integrity in maintained
