The Flightless Bird
The wings of some birds are so small that they are useless
for flying. Earlier, such birds could fly. But after living
for thousands of years in places where they had no enemies,
there was no need for them to fly, and they stayed on the
ground. After a while their young ones could no longer rise
into the air.The ostrich, rhea, emu and cassowary cannot
fly, but they can run fast on their long, strong legs.
Ostriches live in Africa and are found on the grassy places
where they live along with big group of Zebras. The rhea of
South America looks rather like the Ostrich, but it is
similar and has three toes on each feet, while the ostrich
has only two.
The Kiwi about the size of a hen, hides itself in New
Zealand forests. Penguins, another group of flightless
birds, get into water and use their small wings as oars,
when there is danger.

Billy: The brain behind Dudhwa park is dead
Manjari Mishra | TNN
source:- times of india
passege no -1
Billy’s fight against hunting put 26 professional shikar
companies out of job. Despite failing health, he had filed a
writ in the Allahabad high court against poaching in Dudhwa.
This is apart from a relentless battle he waged to have the
offending railway tracks running through Dudhwa shifted to
ensure its inhabitants a peaceful existence. The only regret
he had was “there was so much needed to be done for tigers
and so little time’’. The helplessness provoked him to come
up with some of the best one liners like, “If only they
could vote, tigers could have a much better chance to survive.’’
