Infestation refers to the state of being invaded or overrun
by parasites.
An infection is the detrimental colonization of a host
organism by a foreign species. In an infection, the
infecting organism seeks to utilize the host's resources to
multiply, usually at the expense of the host.

Infestation refers to the condition created especially by
parasites that can be seen without naked eyes- It can be
internal or external parasites.
However- INFECTION- is caused by micro-organisms like
bacteria, virus and fungi but can also be associated with
parasites like Babesia, theileria- specially the blood
parasites
