Hi, I got selected in the CBEC as tax assistant in the tax
assistant exam 2009. My rank is 128. They sent me a letter
telling me that my document has been sent to the concerned
ministry. Now all my queries should be asked to that dept.
Can anybody tell me the what to do now? Besides with my
Rank, where can i be posted? I am from Kolkata.

Hi guys, CBEC has allocated 550+ tax assistants but CBDT
yet to proceed... CBEC candidates have reported to
work.Their date of joining : deadline is before Sept 31st
2010. The dossier was sent on 21st July 2010.
But CBDT yet to respond..If any guys hav info abt status of
CBDT..pls let us know.share

Your exam dossier has been sent to CBEC - the heighest
authority for Central Excise, Customs & Service Tax. The
CBEC will allocate your zone as per your rank & preference.
This preference will be obtained from you by CBEC. for more

Hi friends, I got thru CBDT 2009, RANK 28 from chennai.
When contacted CBDT office, got wide range of replies.
1. Still letters not received from candidates(last date
25th may 2010... think they will wait forever until each
and every one of them submits the form!)
2. Delay on part of SSC...(WHERE does ssc come in to
picture here? its role is over)
3. Internal delays,,,soon will be released
4. One gentleman spoke fully in hindi..said all process
completed a month b4!
If any guy got info FRom CBDT, pls respond

Sorry friend I can't tell the exact date. I've also selected in the exam, I also faced the same question. My rank is 59. I am also from Kolkata.
