How to prepare traceability matrix?
Answer / sravan reddy
Traceability Matrix:
It is also called as Cross-Reference
Matrix. Traceability matrix is a DOCUMENT which contain a
table of linking information used for tracing back for the
reference of the defect in any kind of confusion or
questionable situation.
For example, as a test engineer we find the defect in the
out come of the project/product, but if some one ask how
will u get this defect, then we can say "this defect is
find when I'm testing the so and so test case, this test
case writing for so and so test scenario, this test scenario
comes from so and so functional point, and this functional
point comes from so and so use case" OK. With all this
information we maintain a table i.e called as TRACEABILITY
MATRIX. Finally the Traceability matrix contain the fields
are " Defect ID, Test Case ID, Test Scenario ID, Functional
point ID, Use case ID ".
