In my project we used to prepare a document, areas where we
need clarification and send it to Business people

That document name is called issue log.In the issue log
doc you can able log the issues and any doubts on SRS.
You need to send the doc to the business people for
discussion in call.

we mention the doubt in "Requirement Clarification note"
and we will send that to Author of the SRS
(i.e Business Analyst) through mail.

We do use the same method of maintaining document to clear
doubts.But, That is not issue log, we call it as Question
Log document which contains, S.No, Page No/ Part of SRS
document, Doubt, status, Answer, Cleared by and so on..
