Its a combination of list,crosstab,chart ..... like that
every individual report is a simple report and the
combination of two or more in a single report which gives a
clear analysing for a single view that is in a single
report is a complex report.Simple......

If a report have using conditional blocks, drillthroughs
and conditional formatting that report also called as
coplex report

Hi...

As far as I am there are no such reports defined as a
complex reports. It's entirely based on the requirements.

Most of the time the reporting requirement based on the
business requirements.

In my cognos experience I have faced lot of challenges when
developing reports for finance users/consumers like balance
sheet reports and Profit and loss accounting reports etc..

Make sure that you are comfortable with the functionalities
of the cognos reporting and try to relate things...

Complex reports are those reports where it needs advanced
reporting. where we need to use more then one query,multiple
report types to retrieve data. where conditional formatting
is involved or more joins are there in models. these are
some examples which will make simple report to complex reports.

complex reports are depends up on the requirement.say for
example in one repot i need to have 16 prompts and when
user logs in second time he can able to see prompts pages
when he enters firsttime dependig up on sattic values he
had given.how you do this report.this is my requirement.
for this i used stored procedures ....this is kind of
complex report

Hi, I got a requirement wehre in in a drill through report , in parent report i have a column of numbers on which i have to apply drill through to child report.The condition is in that column if the number ia not zero the drill through link should appear (i.e., 1 to 9) if its 0 or negative number link should not appear. Can you please tell me the limitation of Excel file when exporting from report to Excel? I can export to HTML and PDF but I can't export to Excel. The report is more than 13000 rows. When exporting to Excel, system can view it. After that, I save the report to an Excel file. The size of Excel file is more than 11 MB. But I can't view this file by Excel. Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks!

I have created a database "TestingDB" in MS SQL Server 2005. I have set the port properties and the Cognos Service is up. But I don't see anything in the Cognos. In the administration i have set the ODBC connection and it tested successfully.If i copy the samples to the appropriate directory then i can see the samples.But I don't know how to do the same thing with my own database "TestingDB". As i have configure the cognos in my company which is having a database (very near to production database).I am a novice in cognos. Please help me out.
