why 0.1M OR 1M Perchloric acid standardisation done after 24 hours?

why 0.1M OR 1M Perchloric acid standardisation done after 24 hours?..

Answer / b.gangatharan

For non aqueous titrations, the solution should be virtually
anhydrous.Acetic anhydride present in 0.1M HCLO4 solution will absorb all the water from HCLO4 and Glacial acetic acid within 24 hours and renders the solution virtually anhydrous.

Thanks,
B.GANGATHARAN,
CAPLIN POINT.
