Hi Kumar,
As per my analysis, Cognos is still doing good in the market.
Coming to your second question, It's purely depend upon the requirement. As we all know that Spotfire and Tableau are the visulization tools for creating excellent dashboards. So here we can't say that we can't use Cognos for creating some extra ordinary dashboards. Cognos is a robust tool and used for many purposes.
But If we got a requirement for dashboards only may be dynamic dashboards so we can suggest Spotfire or Tableau to the Client as these tools are very very user-friendly.
Techies - we are further looking your thoughts on this.

Cognos is widely being used for complex reports and
nowadays Dashboards we can create by using cognos bi.
Cognos is bit tough tool comparatively and much in demand.
Other tools like tableau there is nothing to learn much.
Now still cognos is no. 1 reporting tool in the world. and
jobs are highest paid jobs . Cognos planning and COGNOS TM1
are the highest paid jobs in IT industry because people are
very less in these technology and Cognos tm1 is very very
tough to work.

Can you please tell me the limitation of Excel file when exporting from report to Excel? I can export to HTML and PDF but I can't export to Excel. The report is more than 13000 rows. When exporting to Excel, system can view it. After that, I save the report to an Excel file. The size of Excel file is more than 11 MB. But I can't view this file by Excel.
