what is the criteria for choosing capillary column in GC??is it dependent on sample load?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
capillary column range of the 400 temp but it length of 30
meter and packed column length is 3 meter otherwise choose
the acuratly & high sensitivitis peak the sample of minor
impurities collect the column then choose the capillary column.

Packed columns have higher sample capacity than capillary
column.
Improvements in detector sensitivity have also reduced the
need for large samples. For almost all other samples,
capillaries provide much better efficiency (narrow peaks)
which leads to greatly improved peak separation. Capillary
columns are highly sensitive and efficient. these are two
types WCOT and PLOT.
Yes these are depends on Sample Load. Very Low quanity of
samples are enough for the analysis.

Because of the peak shape of solvent observe broad and high consumption of gas flow require in analysis through pack column. Its also need more concentration of sample require than capillary column analysis.
