Question { KESC, 57237 }

Do you know how to joint the H.T and L.T Cables?

Answer

The question is itself creating confusion. Are you asking
about the connection/jointing method,
or are you askinmg about the connection between HT-LT voltage?

Is This Answer Correct ?    17 Yes 2 No

Question { 37092 }

plz tell me about for how many rating (for 500kva)how much
current taken?

Answer

From where you got all these voltage like 440,415,433.

The simple formulae for calculation of current I, if KVA is
given ;

I = (1000 X VA ) / 1.732 x V

So put your available system voltage and get your answer.

Question { 4270 }

Why semi-conducting insulation is used in XLPE cables?

Answer

To discharge the leakage current produce in the cable.

Question { 17869 }

which type of breaker sould be used for different level of
voltage ? (i.e at 11 Kv, 33 Kv, 66 Kv....

Answer

For 11KV Vaccum Circuit Breakers(VCB) are suitable to use.
Now-a-days SF6 (Sulphor Hexa Fluoride) breakers are
available but VCBs are economical than SF6 breakers.

For 33KV - both VCB & SF6 breakers can be used,but SF6
breakers are safer than VCBs. VCBs are more economical

For 66KV - SF6 breakers are the best to use

Question { GKC Projects Limited GKCPL, 64932 }

I have 1500KVA transformer ,How much Maximum KW Load is
allowed?

Answer

In distribution system, generally the p.f. taken in account
is 0.8. So the maximum kw load available is 1500x0.8=1200kw.

For safest condition the diversity factor should be taken
into account is 80%. So the maximum 960kw (80% of 1200kw) of
load is allowed on a 1500KVA transformer.

Is This Answer Correct ?    115 Yes 6 No

Question { BARC, 35124 }

Why transformer is not rotating?

Answer

Transformer is a static device which transfers voltage from
one circuit to another circuit without changing the
frequency(changes the voltage level). The working principle
is dpends upon mutual induction which is created by the
alternating or rotating magnetic field. SO transformers are
not rotating type.
