In India, a registered service provider is required to file quarterly Service Tax Returns (STR) within one month from the end of the quarter. The due dates for filing STR are: April 30 for January-March quarter, July 31 for April-June quarter, October 31 for July-September quarter, and January 31 for October-December quarter. Regarding payment, service tax is payable monthly in arrears on a provisional basis. The due date for payment is the 7th of every month for the taxes accrued during the preceding month.
