Initially they said that 4 leaps of dog are equal to 5 leaps of hare.

now compare speeds

Sd/Sh=[4Ld/t] / [5Lh/t]

we get Sd/Sh=4Ld/5Lh

So S1/S2 =(4x/t)/(5y/t)= 4x/5y=(4×4)/(5×3)= 16/15. (x/y=4/3 by (i) )
