thanks fr invitation.....anyways,i must congratulate u that,
u r a v good marketer....i m saying this because marketing
is about selling ur product, by adding some attribute to
it,by showing to the customers, the attributes our product
can give u than our competitors....marketing is the subject
i love most.....i am telling to the readers of this blog the
important questions ,you should know b'fore reading marketing:-
1.Difference b/w selling and marketing.
2.What are different type of customers?
3.What is a market?
4.Different modes of marketing?
5.What is integrated marketing(IM)?
6.What do u mean by branding?(here will come the questions
like,what is symbol, tagline, logo etc. of a company)...
7.The most important is the 4 p's of marketing...which r
they?(there is a book 4p's of marketing, one must read it if
u want t go in details)
8.you must also know difference b/w marketing of a service
and that of a product......in service there are 7 p's
instead of 4 p's, what are they?

i hav appeared fr the po test also, whose results r nt yet
declared, god only knows whether i will b selected or nt....

also selected.....n nitin yes i was definitely praising you
and ur approach....go ahead...i hav done mba in
marketing....and i sujjest all readers t find answers of
questions posted by me , themselves...because in this way
they can find more questions, apart from that which i hav
posted.....plz if you can, go through book by Philip
Kotler.....it is the best book ever for marketing....if u
think this it will b a lot discriptive, then search answers
through wikepedia....u will find much more things about
marketing......
i m nt having net in my home....so it will nt be easy fr me

thanks diya for the appreciation
i don't own that much praise,

it's all the difficulties of people calling me as i have
given my cell no. out here that inspired me to start this
blog and apart form that when people were discussing abt
other banks then some friens asked them to visit another
pagers. that;s why i created the yahoo group to centralise
the study mateial we have with ourself.

It's sad that u didn't have net at ur home. i wud suggest
you diya to tell me abt the places where the material is
available, so i wud try to load it on the yahoo group and
these blogs itself so more and more candidates make use of it.

I have tried to go through Philip Kotler's book but it's
very big book and i don't think that reading that wud serve
our purpose for this exams although if someone has time with
him and has a long term goal in marketing he sould
definitely read it.

as i m too working away from home and pc is available to me

Marketing Mix contained 4 elements: product, price, place
and promotion.
Product:
The product aspects of marketing deal with the
specifications of the actual goods or services, and how it
relates to the end-user's needs and wants. The scope of a
product generally includes supporting elements such as
warranties, guarantees, and support.
Pricing:
This is the process of setting a price for a product,
including discounts. The price need not be monetary - it can
simply be what is exchanged for the product or services,
e.g. time, energy, or attention.
Promotion:
This includes of advertising, sales promotion, publicity,
and personal selling, branding and refers to the various
methods of promoting the product, brand, or company.
Placement (or distribution): refers to how the product gets
to the customer; for example, point-of-sale placement or
retailing. This fourth P has also sometimes been called
Place, referring to the channel by which a product or
service is sold (e.g. online vs. retail), which geographic
region or industry, to which segment (young adults,
families, business people), etc. also referring to how the
environment in which the product is sold in can affect sales.
These four elements are often referred to as the marketing mix

now other 3 P's are
People: Any person coming into contact with customers can
have an impact on overall satisfaction. Whether as part of a
supporting service to a product or involved in a total
service, people are particularly important because, in the
customer's eyes, they are generally inseparable from the
total service . As a result of this, they must be
appropriately trained, well motivated and the right type of
person. Fellow customers are also sometimes referred to
under 'people', as they too can affect the customer's
service experience, (e.g., at a sporting event).
Process: This is the process(es) involved in providing a
service and the behaviour of people, which can be crucial to
customer satisfaction.
Physical evidence: Unlike a product, a service cannot be
experienced before it is delivered, which makes it
intangible. This, therefore, means that potential customers
could perceive greater risk when deciding whether to use a
service. To reduce the feeling of risk, thus improving the
chance for success, it is often vital to offer potential
customers the chance to see what a service would be like.
This is done by providing physical evidence, such as case
studies, testimonials or demonstrations.


which when said together with the 4 P's mentioned earlier
are called as 7 p's.

the main examination wud consist of two papers
Part A 2 hours would consist of
marketing aptitude, reasonsing and data interpretation
which PArt B 1 hour would be
Descriptive English.
