What are testing techniques? What is difference between general and specific?..

Answer / Rajan Prasad

Testing Techniques: Testing techniques refer to the methods used to evaluate the quality of a software product. They help in identifying defects, verifying functionality, ensuring performance, and validating usability. Some common testing techniques include unit testing, integration testing, system testing, acceptance testing, regression testing, and smoke testing.

General Testing Techniques: General testing techniques apply to all types of testing and are used as a foundation for more specific testing methods. Examples include black-box testing (testing without knowledge of internal workings), white-box testing (testing with knowledge of internal workings), functional testing, non-functional testing, and exploratory testing.

Specific Testing Techniques: Specific testing techniques are used to test specific aspects or features of a software product. Examples include boundary value analysis (testing at the limits of input values), equivalence partitioning (grouping input values based on their expected outcomes), decision table testing (using tables to record all possible conditions and their associated expected results), and state transition testing (testing changes in system states).
