An erp product can be tested manually as well as AUTOMTED.
DATA DRIVEN framework can be used.QTP , PERFORMANCE testing
using LOAD RUNNER.

An ERP product consists of different modules.
For ex. if we talk of SAP it consists of MM(Material Mgt.),
FI(Finance),CO(Controlling),SD(Sales & Distribution)etc.
So to test any module you should expertise in any
particular module.You should have good knowledge of that
module,then it will be easy for you to do functional
testing of that module.
Mostly ERP products are tested manulally,but sometimes for
regression testing automated tools are used which can be
QTP,Loadrunner etc.

is it always necessary to do white box testing before doing black box testing.wat ar applications where only white box is done not black box testing,and application where only black box is benifical not white box testing
