ROUTERS divide the BROADCAST DOMAINs i.e.,(in layman terms)
they divide a huge network into logical seperate small networks.
disadvantages of routers are NONE..... its just
like asking what are the disadvantages of using a transport
like a vechile.
switches break up collision domains thereby dividing the lan
segments. switches are multiport bridges with specialist
ASICs for faster and better switching of data between its
ports.
