to write test case on facebook note few points:
TC1 - Check facebook on different browsers.
TC2 - Check Login Page functionality.
TC3 - Check Forget password and verify on email if recovered or not.
TC4 - After login verify if correct name appearing and images are not blocked
TC5 - Like button,to comment on the comment block.

The basic possible scenario for a facebook web applications:
1) Create the login
2) test the forgot password scenario
3) Login through multiple devices and change the password - Check: does it allow to use Google accounts
4) If yes then check if the Google account password is also changed or not
5) Check: Does it logout you from multiple logged in devices
6) Send request to people
7) Try blocking some people
8) Able to post on people wall whom ur are friends with or not friends with
9) Gaming application
10) If u hide the post from any game does it still post on others timelines
11) Verify all the securities and permissions available like if you do not allow ur profile pic to be shown to public, if people can search you with your name, if you hide post from timeline does it shown on other people timeline, if anybody comment on your picture or post is it visible to friends friends, if you share and folder or post or pic or video to specific people or hide from specific people is it implementing that security
12) Search functionality
13) Check: Are u able to create new group or not
14) If Yes, then check post of particular group should be shown only to same group members.
15) Test, able to change PP and Cover pic via different options (from Machine, Web, Camera, Folders etc)
16) Test, able to create, modify and publish picture Album with different privacy settings.
All the above test scenario will be applicable for facebook mobile app as well along with following more:
1) If any call or sms came in between while you were using facebook
2) if u were posting any thing and battery is discharged or any other kind of interruption takes place
3) if u uninstall and re install the mobile app for facebook does it take the user information automatically
4) if u have multiple sim then which network is it using
5) memory, cpu, network usage
6) if u force stop the application
7) Synchronization with Contact list

For writing a Test Case on full system, specially in a short duration.
Our first step should be define the SCOPE for the system. If scope is all the modules then we can go for Test Scenarios rather then Test cases. Because test case writing will require lot of time compare to test scenarios.
Guys please correct me if i am going wrong :)

2.click on ok button and check home page will be displayed or not
3.after login verify if the correct name is appering images are not blocked
4.And next give invalid user name and correct password
5.click on ok button and check home page will displayed or not
6.next username shoul be empty and give password

Check functionality of each field.
1)Check the by entering user name and password and clicking on login it shows homepage or not?
2)Clicking on home it shows all update or not?
3)Clicking on notification will it show all notifiaction or few?
4)If you are posting your post by mentiong private then it shows other timeline too,same if you mentioned private it shows only you?
5)Tag a person or remove from tag works as per your action.
6)Buttons like like pst,unlike or comment goes in respective fields.or works properly?
7)Searcching friend showing same results which name you want?
8)Sending request to friends is going to same friend?
9)cancle the friend request is possible?
10)unfriend is active
11)Block a friend is possible or unblock is possible
12)Delet post is deleting a post
13)sending message is active or sending it to same person?
14)Seaarching by entering mailid is gives correct result?
15)Check functionality by invalid user entering incorrect name or password or vice versa.
16)If someone adds us on event invitation does it shows invitation till that event day?
