Visual Studio .NET Versions
NOTE: For Visual Studio .NET, you get different version
numbers depending upon whether you look at the crqe32.dll
file (under the Common folder) or whether you look in the
GAC. Plus, when you look in the GAC, you get the version
number that will appear in the .net references files, but
when you right-click and choose properties, you get the
actual version number (I put this in parentheses). Very
confusing indeed! But hopefully this will help you sort
things out in your apps.

Crystal 1.x to 10.x - supports all 3rd party datasources
doesnto have a connectivity with bo and doesnot have direct
interaction between SAPR3 and BW system
Crystal XIR1 to XIR2 - this version has been acquried by BO
and it uses Bo semantic layer (Universe) to create crystal
reprots and export to the portal
Crystal 2008 - This version has been acquired by SAP, and
it has all the above connectivites and direct connectivity
to BW and R3 systems
Crystal Enterprise 4.0 - In this version crystal reprots
can vbe connected to OLAP univeres and capable of GIS
pluggings and it has got analysis viewer to analyse the
reprots which are created from Microsoft and SAP datasource.
