test lead never priortize the defects its dev team job not
test team job to fix the defect so its up to them when they
will fix it

as a tester when we report a bug we have to report it to
test lead this is becoz he wil tel whether the defect is
genuine or not

Test Lead can assign the severity not the priority to a bug
Priority would be assigned by dev.
Test lead can aslo check the root cause of the bug to
verify that bug is genuine..and then further assign it to
concern dev person

Test Lead being more experienced than test engineer, he
prioritizes the bug/defect based on the severity of the bug
from customer/client usage point of view. When there are
more number of bugs/defects in the system to fix then
prioritization plays a key role.
