Take backup of redologfiles only when you are doing cold
backup not when you are taking hot backup in that case take
backup of datafiles and archivelogs

Yes, because if an archived log file is corrupt and you need to recover your database, you will have to do incomplete recovery, until the time where archived logs file ar fine.
