Beta Testing- Testing of S/W done by the potential user of
the product out side the devlopment orgnisation in the
absence of the devloper. Main aim is to get Feed Back from
the users about the problems regarding the use of S/W. So
problems can be fixed before s/W goes for UAT
UAT-Testing of S/W done by the potential user of the
software at the customer site to determine whether to
accept or not to accept the software. Main aim is to
determine whether S/W is fit for the purpose based on daily
business transaction. Focus is to show how system works
properly rather than finding bugs.

for example my project is on android in android we test the build and check whether all the scenarios are working or not
if it is working fine we submit the build to client and client does testing to check whether it is acceptable or not.if there are any bugs he will tell the developer to fix it and again the test engineer tests and send to client he will check and if he is satisfied he uploads the build to android market(google play) now the end users download the build and
use the application and any bug's are there the end users report it this is known as beta testing
