I am using ms access and am stumped trying to determine the last three entries ( by date ) for eac..

Answer / sid

None of the databases provide user a direct access to the meta data of last modified date and item. Server based DBs provide an option to rollback transactions and hence you may undo some inserts in DB2, Oracle, MS SQL, My SQL. MS Access is worst of the lot and does not provide an option to rollback/ undo entries in the tables.
