SAP Netweaver is a platform n which one can build new
applications or old application can be modified and
executed.It consists of 4 layers namely:
1. People Integration - This consists of 3 sub-components
named as Enterprise Portal(web application over net),
Collaboration (eg. chat, instant messaging) & Multi Channel
Access(show data on mobiles, PDA, etc)
2. Information Integration - This consists of sub-
components named as Knowledge Management(store files/data),
Master Data Management(collection of all databases) &
Business Intelligence (analytical reporting, works on OLAP)
3. Process Integration - This consists of sub-components
like Integration Broker(also called as XI) & Business
Process Mgmt (BPM)
4. Application Pltform - Contains WAS(which inturn can
contain ABAP or Java stack or both) & lastly the OS
