Hi, this is Ravi. As a part of tester i would like to share
my opinion on this.
When we release any product or project, and as a part of a
tester, we need to sent a document which furnish the
details of the scenario what we tested. For example, the
customer might not be that much strong on the
functionality. He may focus his eye on the bug itself and
he might not able to move to all functions. But we (tester)
needs to mention cleary, the functions, complete scenario,
covers all modules, etc. in a clear document form and make
the customer has a strong impression, that we covered all
areas related to this module and it is working fine. So
testcase will be more useful and play a compulsion role.
Thanks

Writing test cases are must in Software Testing because,
Test cases are just works like a checklist. When we are
going to buy groceries or something household articles we
will prepare some list. Isn't it?
Why we prepare a list, Just not to forget the items. Just
like that, in software testing we need to write test cases
for each and every functionality which is under test.
Because Each and Every functionality has its own importance
and credibility.
For not ignoring each functionality we prepare test cases.
After preparing we will execute each of these test cases. In
case if we found any errors after execution we have to
report to our concerned higher ups.
This process is like a cycle. Which will continues forever
in testing process.
