What will happen if we create more indexes on a sysbase iq table?..

As far as i know the retrieval is fast.
as per the standard definitions the insertion will be slow.
To achieve more performance when you are loading large data
please drop indexes on the table and load the data.Once your
load has completed recreate indexes.
It will help your performance.

Please correct me if i am wrong?
