why PT Primary are the grounded?


Answer

PT primary winding has delta connection and secondary in star
so delta winding how is possible to grounding always star
winding grounded to measure the voltage phase to phase &
phase to ground or neutral.

first of for we will check the motor current at the name
plate and then provide the constant dc voltage gradually to
phase winding of motor up to rated phase current and
measure the voltage & current both with very carefully.then
calculate it. as r=v/i it will be the standard resistance of
motor winding.

Both are the unit of voltage 11kv & 13.8kv difference only
value of voltage . we can use one of them according to
