Question { CESC, 7982 }

please explain working of revers power relay

Answer

reverse power relays are used to prevent the reverse power
flow to the generating stations so that in casse when
generation is off the power will not flow from grid back to
the generating system. it is unidirectional relay

Question { 2773 }

what is unbalanced rotating magnetic field?

Answer

all the three phase currents should have equal magnitude
and equal phase displacement if it is not the rotating
magnetic field is unabalance

Question { BARC, 12229 }

is starting current of induction is high or stating current
of ransformor is hign ,for the same rating

Answer

AS SOME AIR GAP IS PRESENT IN INDUCTION MOTOR THE POWER
NEEDED IS HHIGH SO IT RAISES THE STARTING CURRENT IN THE
INDUCTION MOTOR

Question { 4154 }

could i arrange a faulty and healthey battery bank togather
in parallel , if your ans is not then why?

Answer

M NOT SURE BT STILL GIVING MY OPINION.
I SAY YES COZ IF THE TWO BANKS ARE CONNECTED PARALALY THE
OUTPUT WILL BECOME SOMTHING CONSTANT THAN THE O/P OF ONLY
FAULTY BANK. AS THE QUANTITY INCREASED THE RATIO DECREASES.

Question { 4040 }

how the grounding[earting] is achieved on ships.

Answer

long metallic bars are used fr this purpose. the bars are
fixed to the lower part of the ships and the second end is
in water. the the water is allready salty so better
earthing is obtained. and ths earthing current reaches the
sea earth without causing any hazarts.

Question { 3493 }

1]how the voltages and frequency are achieved on ships.
2]how does the line and phase voltages are related on ships.

Answer

1) THE SHIPS DO HAVE AN INBUILT SUB STATION TO GENERATE
THE POWER AND APPARATUS TO OBTAIN THE VOLTAGE AND POWER OF
NEEDED RANGE AND TO RUN THE DRIVES.

2) SAME AS IN GENERAL WORLD. I.E. Vp=1.732 x V (line)

Question { 12130 }

Why the tank of transformer is made rectangular not circular??

Answer

as the coil of t/f is rectangular at each side of core. if
we use the circuilar tank the cooling of coil is not same
at evry point. so we insted of using circular we use the
the rectangular tank

Question { RRB, 4765 }

in a dc motor we supply current only to the armature
conductors,from where is the field winding gets excited then??

Answer

o helo bewkoof
y are u confusing me.
dear there are two types of dc motors
1. self excited
2. seperately excited

in self excited the armature and field are fed from single
supply
while in seperately excited motors two different supplies
are used

Question { 11100 }

what is the difference between 'Control Transformer & Potential/Voltage Transformer'?

Answer

A control t/f is one which gives constant o/p voltage and
current , so known as control t/f.
These are basicaly used in electronics circuits.
while PT are used for the measurement of voltages.
so simple......

Question { 2802 }

why do we prefer -48 volt instead of -24volt or -12 volt
etc. ??

Answer

aisa kuch nae he......... all have there individual
aplications.
if the load is more 48v is used, for medium 12v and for low
6 v......... so easy

Question { 3384 }

suppose a fan is running with phase and neutral. if its neural
is touched to body. then fan get stopped. if this fan is
connected to phase and ground supply..then why it runs?

Answer

if d neutral is conectede to the fan body, the ckt doesnt
complete , so the fan stops. but if we use grount instead
of neutral, the fan runs as the ckt is complete here.
so simple.........
