In my opinion provision for B/d is not operating cost
since it is not related to prime revenue generating activity
It should be treated as other exp.

its not a cost at all, hence not allowed by income tax
deptt. any provision other that which is payable during the
relevant previous year is not allowed, but actual bad debt
is allowed.
