Solaris boots on following phases.
boot PROM phase
boot program phase.
kernal initialization phase.
init phase
svc.startd daemon (solaris 10)

. Boot Process.
i. Boot PROM Phase. --> Runs Selftest and loads bootblk
ii.Boot Program Phase. --> Finds , load and execute ufsboot into memory. and ufsboot program loads Kernal.
iii. Kernel initialization Phase. --> Kernal load modules and loads / file system and unloads ufsboot program.and starts init process.
iv. init Phase
v. The svc.startd phase
