Priority means how urgently bug is needed to fix
Severiety means how badly it harms the system
Priority tells you how important the bug is for the user.
Severity tells you how bad the bug is for the user.
Severiety is constant... Priorty might change according to
schedule.

a simple way to answer is PRIORITY is related to Customer
end and Severity is related to Application end.
suppose t software has major problem in some UI application
but in terms of priority it is low in the eyres of customer.
