2. There are 27 Nationalized Banks . In that 7 Banks are
State Bank Group.

SB Group Banks are SB India,SB Bikaner & Jaipur ,
SB Hyderabad,SB Indore,SB Mysore,SB Patiala ,SB Travancore

State Bank of Saurashtra merged with SBI in 2008 ( May be
they will ask this)

Other Nationalized Banks

Allahabad Bank,Andhra Bank,Bank of Baroda, Bank of India,
Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India
Corporation Bank, Dena Bank , IDBI , Indian Bank · Indian
Overseas Bank ,Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab & Sind Bank
,Punjab National Bank, Syndicate Bank, UCO Bank ,Union Bank
of India, United Bank of India,Vijaya Bank

In 1969 14 Banks were Nationalised and in 1980 6 Banks were
Nationalized.
3. There are ~ly 12200 SBI Branches in India.( I am not
sure. But 11111th Branch was opened at Assam)

4. There are two slogans for SBI. 1. With you all the way
and Pure Banking . Nothing Else.

5. The Key Hole SBI Logo indicates that Welcome to SBI.

get more details abt RBI policy released recently and abt
Bank Rates, Repo Rate, Rev.Repo, SLR, CRR etc

Hi...

I have cleared SBI Clearical exam.
I have interview on 5th May.
I read this blog and it's really useful to me. Thanks for u all who r posted in this blog. Some wat i got clear about interview.
Their is a one doubt i have...
I have finished my PG(M.Sc., IT) in 2008 and i am working in software concern past 6 months only. Wat shall i do if they asked me whether employed or not? Could u anyone plz give suggestion for this?????

Hi Padma

If they ask such ques.means jus tell "Searching for
Job" with a Confident smile. There's no wrong in that. In
fact may be it's true.But dont tell any word which make them
think dat u may leave SBI if u get a better job.

Hi Nithya

If u tell that u r working in a concern, chances r there for
the following questions.
1. Why u r leaving that job.
2. If u r getting higher salary means y u r coming to
SBI
3. Tell about your responsibilities of ur current job

Questions will go on when u keep on answering.

Also they ask abt relieving certificate from ur present
employer. Not all Private Concerns/ Organisations be
broad-minded by giving such certificate immediately.

This may delay ur joining date , IF U R SELECTED.
So avoid this.But be careful
It's your wish.

MY REQUEST to my friends who r preparing for Interview.

If u r highly qualified and chances r there for u for
getting a more salaried job than SBI means , please think
twice. Bcoz it's not easy to fill a vacancy in SBI.
PLease giv way to our other unemployed frnds who really need
this job.

I read in one website that SBI has decided
to merge state bank of Indore with itself.
And this proposal was approved by SBI board
recently on 23rd apr 2010.
Is it true? Anyone know about it?

GOI already gave green signal in the last quarter of fiscal
2009-10 for the merger of SBInd with SBI.
To avoid duplication confusion also.
State bank of Ind ia
State bank of Ind ore
SBI has 98% stake in SBIn
Merger will be complete in the current quarter of 2010-11.

Please Help...... One of my close relative leady ( Married) presently working at state bank of hyderabad at hyderabad, her husbend also working in PVT company at hyderabad. Now she selected at UCO Bank for the post of PO.in the offer letter they have not mentioned place of posting. but they mentioned report for training at bhubaneswar , orissa . Now she is confussion wether she will join at UCO bank or not.as she dont know the place of posting .also she is affriding if they post at orissa , or otherthen hyderabad then her femily life will distrub. SO PLEASE HELP HER BY GIVING YOUR VALUABLE SUGGESTION.
