hai, i am regular reader of this block.i thank every who
share their experiences?Its very useful for me.i attended
my interview today in chennai. It is easy. They r asking
only question related abt ur hobbies .General things abt
your studies.They ask abt logo of sbi.Wat is Npa? Wat the
difference between inventroy and discovery?Keep smiling
during interview.Do not get tensed? It should be easy only.
All the best who r going to attend a interview,.know
general things abt geography,How many continent?Who founded
Atom.My father is working in canara bank? some question
related to canara bank.They didnt ask any general awareness
question.? If you visted sbi branch means they ask you tell
abt good and bad thing found in bank?

There are 28 nationalised banks bcoz earlier in 1969 14 of
them were nationalised excluding SBI.Then 6 were
nationalised.Then SBI along with its 7 associate banks are
nationalised.In all there are 28 of them.Ok

hi i think there are 26 nationalized banks. since new bank
of india was merged with punjab national bank, now only 19
banks excluding sbi group are nationalized. since the
majority shares of sbi was trasnfered from rbi to government
of india , sbi is also a nationalized bank

I have faced the interview today.
It was a good one the board members are very helpful.
The questions asked to me were
1) What were you doing in the last year?
Sir, I joined a competition coaching.

2) So do you give any credit to the coaching ?
Yes Sir, I do.They have suggested me some good books for
preparation.

3) do you have a bank account ?
Yes Mam, I have one.

4) in which bank ?
In State Bank Of Indore.

5) how many digits are there in an account number ?
( I calculated and then replied) Mam there are eleven digits.

6) Do you have an ATM?
yes I have.

7) What is the full form of ATM ?
automatic teller machine.

8) what is the difference between internet banking and ATM ?
I replied giving two reasons but they were of no use
she was looking for some other

In ATM you get hard cash whereas in internet banking it
isn't possible.

9) How many associate banks are there ?
there are six (I replied but added) state bank of saurashtra
has recently been merged.

10) when was it merged ?
I replied Sorry mam I don't remember the date
then she only told me the date and asked to remember it

then there were about five questions relating family
background and family members.
Actually I have Geology as one of my subjects in
graduation. Which was I think unknown to them then some
question arrived from there.

11) with what this subject gelogy deals with ?
I answered correctly.

12) Can you relate geology with other subjects which you
have in graduation i.e. with maths,physics.
I related.

13) then one of the member asked can you explain in brief
about Tsunami as you have studied the earth in geology ?
I explained.

14) why do you want to join SBI ?

15) what do you know about SBI ?

hi everyone
i finished my interview 2day
it was not good and not bad i was the first candidate of the
session and as i have a post graduation in commerce they
asked me only the commerce questions and nothing else and
they went very deep into the subject and people with
commerce back ground be prepare ur subject well.
still the panel members r nice and they receive us in a very
gentle manner.
all the best for the people who have interview 2morrow.

interview on 17th oct. U guys dont take tension as they r
just cheaking your confidence level and not your knowledge

in mumbai there is a panel of four people 3 men 1 women

1st person:
Tell me about previous jobs??
as i had worked with 2 different companies as HR executive
i explained them my job profile asi also do freelancing as
trainer they asked me that training is interesting job then
why you want to join banks???

Tell me about your family background??
as my dad was a state bank employee they asked me in brief
about there job profile

2nd person:
If u get selected n placed in a rural area would accomodate
urself


which bank is recently in news and for what???
why you think tht what happen in america affected on indian
economy???

3rd person:
Do you have bank account???
have u visited any time in bank??? how you find it??
what is tag line of state bank?? expalin the logo

4th person:
what is ATM?? what are their benefits???
today a cricket match is goin on where it is happning n in
between whome??


thats it! no banking questions
panel members a very helpfull n always smiling so make sure
u return that simle to them

2) What is E-Commerce?

3) If you are graduated, then go through your academic
project.

4) What is B2B (Business to Business) and B2C (Business to

hey guys i attended my interview on 29th April in a delhi zone.They were asking so simple question that i was surprised. I preapred day and night for the interview collecting all the question from this link and other site as well as from GS book but they simply asked 1) tell us about ur family 2) about u 3) Why u want to join banking and not IT . 4) Advantages and disadvantages of computer. 5) Where is hawamahal. 6) about pink city 7) who discovered electron. 8) who invented telephone. that's all I think it was just waste of time preparing banking related questions.
