There will be lots of scheduling algorithms
available.Generally if a interrupted process has the highest
priority,cpu will save the sate of current process and
switch to the interrupted process to handle that.After
completion of interrupted process it will continue the old
process from the state where it ends....switching between
process is called as context switch.

Interrupts can occur at any time as a result it can even
occur at the middle of a process. In the CPU, there is a
register called the interrupt register, information stored
stored in the register, coupled with the information stored
in the enable/disable makes or prompts the CPU to do its
specified tasks.
The CPU must remember the last operation it was doing
before the interrupt came about therefore, the former
processing has to be stored in a location.
There are numerous ways of which the CPU can handle
interrupts but one of the techniques is the Vectored
interrupt techniques.

Whenever interrupt flag is enable.
the Interrupt Service Routine(ISR) is called and execution
of the current procedure halts(detais are stored in stack).
the ISR will serve the interrupt.
