Answer / chandramouli
glass is more elastic than rubber because restoring forces
are more and less elongation for deformed force, for same
force in rubber more deformation will come.youngs modulus
also greater value for glass.

Its a very fine question and answer to this cannot be given
with a practical knowledge. one should know that youngs
modulus of steel is greater than youngs modulus of
rubber, and youngs modulus is inversely proportional to the
elongation of any material. So elongation of rubber is more
than steel so Y steel > Y rubber, the property of elasticity
depends on the value of youngs modulus. Therefore steel is
said to be more elastic than rubber

Elasticity which is defined as the ration of stress to strain ,is more in the case of glass.

This depends upon the value of youngs modulus.Hence youngs modulus of glass is comparatively more than that of youngs modulus of rubber. This is why glass is more elastic than rubber.

strain produced by appalying a constant stress on a rubber material is greater than a steel material, so all the modolus of elasticity is greater in case of steel
hence, steel is more elastic than rubber.

cis-isoprene is the basic material of rubber..... it will be
deform when it stressed to a great extend but glass can be
stressed to any higher extend because of their some
properties...............

Elasticity is not the ability to deform a material. It is
the ability to resist the the deforming force.
"The property by which a body returns to its orginal shape
after the removal of external load is called elasticity."
-Strength of Materials by B.C.Punmia, Ashok Jain, Arun Jain
The Young's modulus of elasticity (E) is a measure of this
elasticity of a material.
Hence, E (glass) > E (rubber)
