Explain the essential difference between an electron and a beta ray?
Answer / Avinash Kumar Subhash
An electron is a subatomic particle with a negative electric charge and a mass that is approximately 1/1836 of a proton's mass. Electrons are found orbiting the nucleus in atoms. A beta ray, on the other hand, is a high-energy particle emitted during certain types of radioactive decay, typically consisting of an electron (beta minus) or its antiparticle, the positron (beta plus). Unlike electrons that remain bound to atoms, beta rays are energetic particles that can travel long distances.
