When does trashing occur?
Answer / Dinkar Pratap Singh
Trashing refers to a situation in an operating system where the secondary storage (like hard disk) becomes so slow due to excessive paging or swapping of data between main memory and secondary storage that it affects the performance of the system. This happens when the number of processes exceeds the available main memory, forcing the OS to constantly swap memory pages.
