Criteria for automating tests include: 1) Repetitive nature of the test; 2) Potential for saving time and effort compared to manual testing; 3) Availability of clear and concise test cases; 4) Stability of the application under test; 5) Low false positive rate; 6) High ROI (Return on Investment); 7) Test isolation, i.e., tests should not interfere with each other; and 8) Ability to integrate with existing testing frameworks and tools.
