GSM- Gloabl system for mobile communication.
- Groupe speciale for mobile communication which is the
name of group which worked for this standard to implement
in europe.
- In 1991 eleven countries of the europe implemented this
standard.
- The first country which implemented this standard was
Finland.
- Each operator is Bestow with the 25MHZ band.
- Use three bands 900/1800/1900MHZ.
- Having data bases HLR, VLR, EIR and AUC.
- Having elements ME, BSS, NSS.
- Use Digital Air interface.
- 25MHZ is divided into 124 channels of 200khz.
- Each channel can support 8 users.
- Each user is allocated 0.577ms time slot in the 8 user
supporting frame.
- Total 4.615ms frame is used for the 8 users.
- Then multi frame is based on 26 eight user supporting
frames(multiframe is of 120ms duration).
- Then comes a supper frame which is consists on 51
multiframes(super frame is of duration 6.12s).
- Then comes Hyper frame consists on 2048 supper frames
(Hyper frame is of duration 3.4816 Hours).
