Cyclic Frequency Hopping (CFH) is a technique used in GSM networks to mitigate interference between adjacent cells. In CFH, each cell uses a unique hopping sequence or pattern to change the carrier frequency at regular intervals (typically every 4.6 ms).nThe basic idea behind CFH is to reduce the probability of co-channel interference occurring by changing the frequencies used for transmission and reception frequently enough so that any potential interfering signal from another cell does not last long enough to cause significant degradation in the quality of service.nEach GSM cell uses a specific hopping sequence, which is defined by the combination of its frequency reuse factor (i.e., the number of cells using the same frequency channel) and the cyclic prefix length.
