What is the difference between cdu c and cdu a?
Answer / Ranjan Kumar Jha
In GSM networks, Call Detail Records (CDRs) are generated for each call or event. CDU (Call Detail Unit) is the device responsible for generating these records. There are two types of CDUs: CDU-A (Analog CDU) and CDU-C (Digital CDU).
1. Coverage: CDU-A is used in analog networks, while CDU-C is used in digital networks like GSM.
2. Data format: CDU-A generates CDRs in a proprietary format that cannot be easily shared or analyzed by other systems, whereas CDU-C generates CDRs in the widely-used TAP (Telecommunications Analytics Platform) format, which can be easily processed and analyzed by various tools.
