A person left house with speed 40 mile per hour his wife after 30 minutes left to catch him at a speed of 50. In what time she will catch?
Answer / Anchal Khare
The man has a head start of 30 minutes, and he travels at a speed of 40 miles per hour. During this time, the man covers a distance of 40*30/60 = 60 miles. The woman starts after him with a speed of 50 miles per hour, so she catches up when she has covered the same 60 miles. Her travel time to catch up is therefore 60/50 = 1.2 hours (or 1 hour and 12 minutes).
