If A speaks truth, then his statement that he is a liar would be false, which means A lies and the statement that he is a liar is true. If A lies, then his statement that he is a liar would be true, which means A tells the truth and the statement that he is a liar is false. Since B's statement aligns with A lying (and thus being a truth-teller), it shows that A lied.
