mobile application testing consider app such as whats app or gmail on android phone
first check installation
test case for gmail will be sign in or sign up send mail receive mail attach a photo and send mail, sign out
and many more test cases he we are testing the app on mobile phone
in mobile we are testing the mobile but in mobile application we are checking particular application

On the other hand when we download the apps from App Store or Google Play in my mobile and test the app than it is called a mobile application testing.
