DS-160 is just a supporting document for visa. It is not a
application for the booking a visa appointment date. If you
want to book a visa appointment please follow the below like
with the DS-160 form bar code number:

After going into the website please select a link
accordingly and proceed. After filling the DS-160 there is
no guarantee about when you will get the visa appointment.
It depends on availability of visa appointment date. You can
also check the visa availability in the below site.

On booking the visa appointment date you will immediately
get a conformation letter about the visa appointment. Please
take a print out of both visa appointment conformation
letter and DS-160. I am not sure if you have made the
payment for visa appointment. Just in case if you did not
make the payment, you can make it HDFC bank and you will get
a receipt with bar code. Also keep the code safe. You need
visa appointment letter, DS-160 form and HDFC receipt along
with the required documents for visa while attending the
visa interview.

Hi im 74 yrs old, recently bereaved of my husband, i have never visited the US. My Son is a US citizen through the lucky draw and my daughter is married to a US citizen for over 15years. Hi, I am going to attend the H1B interview for X company in the coming month. as I am married and need to apply for dependant visa for my wife in advance(or with me) because after going to US,it will be hard to do that. If the visa is approved and want to stay at home for more 2-3 month and then come to US,can she do that? What will be the validity of the Dependant Visa? Is there any specific time in which she need to land in US compulsory. can anyone answer my questions.
