Two cars travel in the same direction at 40km/hr at a regular
distance. A car comes in the opposite direction at 60km/hr. It
meets each car in a gap of 8 seconds. What is the distance
between the two cars?

it means 40000Me into 60mi
.
. . 40000me/60min=666.66
1min=666.6666
1min=60sec
.
. . 666.66/60=11.1111
1sec=11.1111me
11.1111me*8sec=88.88me
same formula for second apposite car
you will get answer 133.3333
and then total of both car distance =222.22

when first car travels 1km per min the opposite car moves 1.5km towards first car. Since two cars moving with same speed apart from opposite car. Both the cars moving in same direction. since opposite car moving at 25 meters per second and now that 25*8=200meters in mean time 40kmph cars moved 186.4meters per 8 seconds so the distance will be 186.4meters

car's total speed is 100 km/h , b'coz it is moving with
60km/h in the opposite direction of cars with 40 km/h.
So, velocity=distance/time. here, time=8 sec. and
velocity=100 km/h.
So, distance between 2 cars is 222.22 metres.
