According to the Companies Act 1956 Unclaimed Dividend should be Transfered to the Investor education and Protection Fund Account This Should Shown Under Current Liabilities as Unpaid Dividend in the Balance Sheet

it is a liability to the company for a short term . it should be shown as a deduction from surplus under reserves and surplus and also as other current liability under the head current liability of the balance sheet
