Its not mentioned tht it happend in India ,so obv house maid
isnt the answer but right answer is his wife coz she said "i
was sleeping when murder took place" first how can she
predict exact time and at tht time she was sleeping...and

01. The place ( India / abroad ) should have been mentioned.
Let us suppose the murder took place in India
02. The House-Maid didn't say for what purpose she went to
the Post-Office. Let us suppose she said that she went to
the Post Office to withdraw money.
03. The wife's statement is not clear. If she was sleeping,
how could she know about the time of the murder ?
Let us suppose she said that she was sleeping after lunch,
and when she got up in the afternoon, she found her husband
murdered in another room.
The House-Maid is the killer, because 2nd October is Gandhi
Jayanti and In India Post-Offices are closed on that day.
She didn't go to the Post-Office for dropping a letter in
the Letter-Box.
Arithmatical coincidence - 02.10.1992 = 0+2+1+0+1+9+9+2 =
24 and 2+4=6. No. 6 is the House-Maid.
